Behind the scenes
People ask why they get a proper job sheet and photos from a one-man garage. The honest answer is the software. I use GarageDash, a garage management system built for small UK workshops, and it does the admin so I can stay under the bonnet.
What it means when you book with me
Everything done to your car is logged against the reg, with the parts used and the time taken. Ask for it any time.
The worn part, the fault I found, the new part fitted. Sent to you from the job so you see what I saw.
Type your reg on the booking form and the make, model and engine come through on their own.
MOT and service dates are tracked, so you get a nudge before they run out rather than after.
Why this one
Most garage software is built for a front desk with three people on it and priced like it. GarageDash is the first one I found that made sense for a workshop my size: one flat monthly price, nothing per user, and the bits I actually use every day done well. Bookings, job sheets, invoices, vehicle health checks and reminders, on a laptop or a tablet on the bench.
If you run a garage or you're a mobile mechanic and you're still on paper, it's worth a look. There's a free trial and they'll move your old records across.
Disclosure: GarageDash sponsors this website. It is also, genuinely, the software the bookings and job sheets on this site run through. Links on this page go to garagedash.co.uk.
